Arrived to find water beading off bottom of air handler Checked static pressures Freon pressures coil level drain pitch assured unclogged lines. I am assuming that the system had a clogged line or froze up air handler bottom was saturated with water and insulation on bottom has lost its r values and needs replaced.

System not bringing home down to desire temperature. Client had thermostat off and just turned the thermostat on this morning. Explain to client that it could take a while to cool the home down to temperature if thermostat has been off for a period of time. Also noticed that all air filters are plugged, which could’ve been causing system to freeze up overnight. Also, there is no attic insulation. Explained to client that home will take a lot longer to cool down to temperature with no insulation in attic as well as an increase in her electrical bill. Replaced filters that customer supplied, did not have filter for the main hallway return. She said she will go out and get one today. Advise client to see how system operates over the next few days. Everything working fine while I was there. Client would like service manager to come out and evaluate system as well.

No cool, client says it wasn’t getting below 90° at home. Upon arrival thermostat was off. Turn thermostat to cool and cycled AC system. Everything seemed to be working. OK did a complete evaluation of a C system. Checked the temperatures and pressures. Everything within manufacture specs. Did notice that the compressor had high start up amps. Recommended installing a hard star kit in signing up for membership. Client declined recommendations at this time. System is up and running and cooling at this time.

Client getting condensation issues from bathroom vent. Found a huge hole in ductwork up in attic. Duck work is very old and outdated. Gave client options for repairing ductwork, replacing entire duct system, and replacing 11-year-old AC system. Client will review estimates and get back to us. Got client preapproved for financing. Arrived to find system low on r-410a. Advised client of leaky condenser coil Advised client Replacement would be of better option over a coil replacement due to age and cost. Gave client options. Client wanted to inject Freon as of now due to selling home and wishes to be out by July. Today’s task includes -injection of r-410a to get system back to manufacturer specifications -Please note this is a band aid solution and is no warranty due to leak in condenser coil

Mechanically the system is running fine. Insulation and ductwork work is poor however, I recommend at the bare minimum new ductwork. However is customer is going to invest that type of money I’d suggest replacing the whole system as it’s 11 years old and putting money into old system is not recommended. Included are quotes.

Came out last night because customers machine kept turning on and off after hearing that from the customer I checked first the high and low pressure switches because machine was good on refrigerant. After checking that found low pressure switch wire came loose spliced and connected wire back. machine is working currently at this time.

James returned and discussed issues client was having. Stated that the kitchen and bathroom vent was sweating at certain times. After discussing the certain times with client he stated the kitchen was sweating when large door going outside was left open and bathroom vent was sweating when showers weee taken. Upon arrival air handler was working in good order. After inspecting all major and minor electrical components the capacitor was found to be outside of the it 40 mf rating ( it was at 14) and was replaced. The system is operating normal now. Customer was offered and opted to become a member under Mach one plan. Biological growth was discovered In air handler however and it was recommended to the client to have UV lights installed. There were no surge protectors on inside or outside unit; customer was advised of the importance of these devices and to have them installed.

I’ve had seven different heating and air conditioning companies out to inspect my aging system, and evaluate the potential of replacing it. James is the one that I most trust. He was so patient to answer all of my detailed questions. All of his answers were congruent with my prior knowledge (background in automotive refrigeration). Some of the other agencies that have been to my house have given me patently false, even opposite, information on factual items. James was willing to go into the weeds with me, and (prior to work actually being done) has so far earned my trust. Also, no pressure, but also straight up regarding telling me how it is.
