Air temperatures were checked, unit static pressures were checked, coil and blower were inspected, all major and minor electrical components were checked, condensate line was flushed, refrigerant pressure and temperatures were checked. Air filter does need to be replaced, ordered 2, need to schedule to drop them off. Customer paid half already. Recommended installing indoor and outdoor surge protectors.

Perform tuneup on AC system. There is no indoor or outdoor surge protectors on system, also system is low on refrigerant and has possibly leak. Gave client solutions for issues with system, however, system is 10 years old and recommend replacing due to age and cost of repairs. Client decided to go ahead and move forward within a new system. Also Wants to replace water heater because it has to be moved anyways to remove air handler. Scheduled to do install on Thursday, April 17.

Client sold home and inspector said that ductwork in the attic needs to be repaired. After evaluating entire system found that ductwork needs to be redesigned and is undersized for a 4 ton air conditioning system. Client does not want to replace entire ductwork at this time because the house is sold. Client wants to repair ductwork that is damaged in attic as a Band-Aid Option. Need to replace one of the main supply 14 inch trunk coming off of Plenum to hard pipe, it is torn at insulation due to rodents. Also, there are two metal supply trunks in attic that are smashed and need to be replaced. Advise client that if installers notice any other damaged ductwork that they will inform them and price accordingly from there. Collected 50% deposit. ($847.50)

No cooling on second floor. Did a complete evaluation of AC system. Indoor blower is running but blowing out warm air. Condenser is running outside. Checked refrigerant levels and found system low on refrigerant which means there is a leak in system. Also noticed that the outdoor capacitor is very weak on the compressor side and compressor has high startup amps. Gave client solutions to repair system, however, system is eight years old and recommend replacing due to age and cost of repairs. Client chose to just do the Band-Aid for now. Replaced outdoor capacitor, and charged the system with 4 pounds of refrigerant. Explained to client that this will not fix the leak, refrigerant will eventually leak out and may have issues in the peak of the summertime with keeping the house up to temperature. Client said he will call us back if he notices a change in Temperature And possibly to replace the system.

Brennan G Today i visited for a second opinion. I discovered the blower motor has failed. We scheduled another visit to replace the motor under parts warranty. The refrigerant charge may be a few ounces or a pound low. I will top off the refrigerant levels as a courtesy for enrolling into our maintenance agreement. I preformed a visual leak search and did not detect any obvious leaks. The system is heating at this time.
