Localized AC Challenges in Pinellas Park, FL
Being in the heart of Pinellas County, Pinellas Park residents experience unique HVAC challenges:
- High Humidity & Frequent Rainfall: The subtropical climate can cause excessive moisture buildup, leading to mold growth in ducts and clogged drain lines. Our team provides dehumidification solutions and routine maintenance to prevent these issues.
- Aging HVAC Systems in Established Neighborhoods: Many homes in Skyview Terrace and Bonnie Glynn have older AC units that struggle to keep up with Florida’s heat. We specialize in energy-efficient upgrades to improve cooling and lower energy costs.
- Salt Air Corrosion for Coastal Properties: While Pinellas Park isn’t directly on the coast, nearby Gulf winds can still bring salt air that wears down outdoor AC units. Our corrosion-resistant AC solutions help extend the life of your system.
- Frequent Power Surges from Summer Storms: The area experiences frequent thunderstorms that can lead to power fluctuations, damaging AC systems. We offer surge protection installations and smart thermostats to protect your unit.
- Rising Energy Costs in Growing Communities: With continued growth in areas like The Mainlands and Autumn Run, energy efficiency is more important than ever. Our HVAC tune-ups help maximize system performance and reduce electric bills.
Common AC Problems We Fix
The hot and humid weather in Pinellas Park puts a lot of stress on air conditioning systems. Here are some common AC problems we fix:
- Blowing Warm Air – This can happen due to low refrigerant, a faulty compressor, or a clogged air filter. If your AC isn’t cooling properly, it may need a refrigerant recharge or a more detailed inspection. Homes in areas like Skyview Terrace may experience refrigerant leaks more often due to aging HVAC systems.
- Turning On and Off Too Often – A dirty condenser coil or a faulty thermostat could be the cause. Frequent cycling leads to higher energy costs and unnecessary wear and tear. Energy-conscious communities like The Mainlands often deal with this issue.
- Strange Noises – Grinding, squealing, or rattling sounds often point to a mechanical problem. These noises could indicate a failing motor, a loose part, or worn-out belts that need replacing. Older homes near Park Boulevard often experience these issues due to aging HVAC components.
- Water Leaks – A clogged drain line or frozen coils can cause water to leak from your AC unit. If left untreated, this can lead to water damage and mold growth. With Pinellas Park’s high humidity, excess moisture is a common concern.
- Higher Energy Bills – If your AC is working too hard, it can waste energy and increase your electric bill. Dirty filters, aging components, or airflow restrictions might be to blame. Growing neighborhoods like Bonnie Glynn require optimized cooling solutions.
- Bad Odors from Vents – Musty or burning smells could indicate mold growth in the ductwork or electrical issues that need immediate attention. The humid climate in Pinellas Park makes mold-related HVAC issues particularly common.

Have quote for new 5 ton

Inspected upstairs and downstairs carrier systems Downstairs is a 5 ton carrier heat pump that use to be zoned and has been abandoned. All wires are still present but if client wishes to keep system zoned we will need to replace zone board, dampers, and sensors. I do not recommend zoning a 5 ton system and would highly recommend doing a multi system with 2 air handlers but will give both options if client chooses. All The duct work that is visible for the 5 ton system is in poor shape as well. The upstairs 3 ton heat pump system is not zoned but client would like it to be. Zoning a 3 ton system is possible but will need to completely reconfigure the duct work to be zoned. Client had to leave while I was on site and left his son my contact in for to reach back out when he has returned so I can go over all options and get pricing with manufacturer he chooses.

Upon arrival client stated system would run for a couple minutes then shit down. Then would repeat the cycle again. System is low in r-410a and is 21 years old. Found leak in evaporator coil and advised replacement over repairs but awaiting till tomorrow to send quotes to client as supply houses are closed as of now. Will follow up tooorrow
